From the Office for Social Ministry
Good health and nutrition are a part of “wellness” social ministries. Saying we want to be in good physical condition and making action steps to do that are two different things. So, if you are looking to reset your mind this summer and align your thoughts with actually getting fit and eating healthy, check out the FREE University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Expanded Food Nutrition and Education Program (EFNEP)
Currently this program is available in Hawaii on Oahu and the Big Island.
Classes cover topics surrounding safe food handling, spending less while eating better, and setting goals. Eating Smart/Being Active Classes for Summer & Fall 2023 offer comprehensive lessons that contribute to personal development of the family, diet and nutritional well-being. Through experiential learning, participants can learn how to make positive behavior changes in their eating habits as well as their life choices.
For more information or to enroll in this program on Oahu and the Big Island, please contact Linda Cota-Kumagai at (818) 203-9299.
