From the Office for Social Ministry
For forty years, the National Catholic Partnership on Disabilities (NCPD) has been working with diocesan parishes to promote meaningful participation of persons with disabilities. Following their motto of “One Lord, One Faith, One Family,” the NCPD provides tools and resources so that all parishioners can feel included in church activities through sacramental experiences and fellowship.
In preparation of the upcoming International Day for Persons with Disabilities, NCPD is hosting a special panel discussion: “Where Faith and Disability Meet” on November 30, 2022 at 2pm ET or 9am HST. Please save the date and join us!
In his 2021 message for International Day for Persons with Disabilities, our Holy Father reminded us that “Our frailties are no obstacle to living and proclaiming the Gospel. In fact, a trusting and personal friendship with Jesus can serve as the spiritual key to accepting the limitations that all of us have, and thus to be at peace with them. This in turn can lead to a joy that fills hearts and lives.”
Let’s work together to fill hearts and lives of all! Please mark your calendar to join the discussion on creative ways to make all our brothers and sisters feel included within our church and society. Details for online access is forthcoming.
