From the Office for Social Ministry
SOLIDARITY is a principle of Catholic Social Teaching that reminds us that we are part of God’s family, no matter where we live. During this Lenten season, let us strive for solidarity as one ‘ohana, by recognizing others as brothers and sisters and actively working for their good. We can start by learning about people on the other side of the globe and how we can make a difference despite the distance.
CRS Rice Bowl continues to share stories of hope from Guatemala, Bangladesh and Rwanda during this fifth week of Lent to help us visualize The Fruit of our Lenten Sacrifice.
Please post the following in your parish bulletin, on your website or use as a Pulpit Announcement for the weekend of April 2 and 3, 2022 – the Fifth Sunday of Lent:
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Hunger impacts millions of women, men and children around the world. Throughout Lent we have encountered communities in Guatemala, Bangladesh and Rwanda that are overcoming this problem so their families can have brighter futures. How is your community working to address hunger or other injustices locally and globally?
Please consider incorporating the weekly RICE BOWL PRAYER INTENTIONS in your Sunday liturgy:
THE FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT
For those we encountered through CRS Rice Bowl and for all members of our global family, that they may always have the proper nutrition and the opportunity to pursue their dreams and achieve a brighter future. We pray to the Lord…
