Annual Saint Marianne Cope Walk Raises Record-Breaking $180,000

St. Francis Healthcare System Honors Saint Marianne Cope on Her Feast Day Weekend
and Raises Over $180,000 for Program and Services for Hawaii’s Families

St. Francis Healthcare System thanks all those who participated in the 9^th Annual Saint Marianne Cope Walk and Wellness Fair on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Co-chaired by Jerry Correa, President & CEO of St. Francis Healthcare System; Richard Kishaba, President of Ohana Pacific Health; and Daryl Suehiro, President of D. Suehiro Electric, Inc., this year’s walk raised a record-breaking $180,000 to support St. Francis programs and services.

More than 400 virtual walkers from 25 teams dedicated the months leading up to the event to raising funds for St. Francis. Every dollar raised will help the healthcare ministry care for more people – giving our community access to quality hospice care, personal care services, care coordination, caregiver support, meals and transportation, preschool, and adult day care.

“Because of the community’s generosity, St. Francis Healthcare System will be able to do continue the legacy begun by Saint Marianne Cope and the Sisters of St. Francis,” says President and CEO Jerry Correa. “There is no doubt the pandemic has affected everyone, and it blows me away to see our community literally step forward in big and compassionate ways for Hawaii’s families who are in need.”

On the day of the walk, participants who raised $25 or more were invited to pick up a breakfast bento at Ho‘okupu Center at Kewalo Basin Park. Walkers could also choose a bouquet of flowers to honor Saint Marianne Cope at her statue.
