Synodal Process Nears Local Deadline of February 28

To All Members of the Diocese of Honolulu

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Peace be with you!

Pope Francis has called for a worldwide involvement of engagement of as many people as possible to prepare for the Synod of Bishops in October 2023, whose theme is: The Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission. Each diocese has prepared its own format for this worldwide consultation, and I am happy to say that many groups and individuals have already participated.

Now that our local deadline of February 28 is approaching, I ask everyone to give special attention to this consultation over the next two weeks. Pastoral councils, families, parish staffs, neighbors (Catholic or not), and EVERYONE is invited to participate in this reflection. We invite all individuals and groups in the diocese to discuss and share your reflections. The exercise itself has been enriching and engaging, and it will help our Church to grow, locally, nationally, and internationally.

The format for participating in the Synodal Process can be found on the website of the Diocese of Honolulu: Synod of Bishops - Diocese of Honolulu Phase (catholichawaii.org). The web portal for reporting responses can be found in the document.
