Help me find...
April 4, 2022
From the Office for Social Ministry
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, one of the most significant moments of the Church year. During this week, we journey with Christ from his triumphant entry into Jerusalem to his final meal with his closest friends and ultimately to his death on the cross.
As we walk with Jesus through Holy Week, we call to mind the countless men, women and children who even today carry heavy crosses: crosses of hunger, of homelessness, of a lack of resources or security. Some of you may remember Thomas Awiapo’s visit to our diocese several years ago and his story of surviving hunger and starvation as an orphaned child in Ghana. To view his testimony and Lenten video on how life changing Rice Bowl has and continues to be, watch “What is Lent” at the CRS Website.
Please post the following in your parish bulletin, on your website or use as a Pulpit Announcement for the weekend of April 9 and 10, 2022 – Palm Sunday:
SHARING GOD’S LOVE
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might not perish but might have eternal life. – John 3:16
As we enter Holy Week, we remember how our Lord suffered and died so that each and every one of us might be saved from sin and have eternal life. Reflect on God’s infinite love for you. How have you responded to that love this Lent, and how can you share it with others?
Please consider incorporating the weekly RICE BOWL PRAYER INTENTIONS in your Sunday liturgy:
PALM SUNDAY
For our community, that we recognize how we are connected to our global family and that we take steps to support the well-being of all our sisters and brothers. We pray to the Lord…
