Help me find...
April 25, 2022
From the Office for Social Ministry
As we count our Easter Blessings, we want to send a BIG MAHALO to all who participated in the Lenten CRS Rice Bowl 2022 fundraising campaign. Every dollar helps change lives for our brothers and sisters in need. For example, a $50 donation helps buy seeds to help farmers grow healthy crops; $80 can help pay for a lamb to provide milk for an entire family; and $170 helps provide fruit trees that produce food and income.
Reminder--if you have yet to submit your Rice Bowls, it’s not too late! Please turn in any collections of cash or checks directly to your parish as soon as possible so that we can include your generous alms in our Diocese record. Keep in mind that 25% of all the funds collected for Rice Bowl 2022 are returned to our Diocese to support local Rice Bowl projects in Hawaii such as the Nutritious Food Backpack project for hungry keiki; community/parish garden projects to help provide fresh produce for parish food pantries; outreach projects supporting homeless persons and families in Hawaii; and projects to help provide legal services for migrants in Hawaii. For more information on ways to give, please visit the OSM websitewww.officeforsocialministry.org.
You can also make online donations directly to www.crsricebowl.org and indicate your contributions are in support of the Diocese of Honolulu so that 25% of the donations can serve our Hawaii Rice Bowl sustainability efforts here in the islands. Mahalo and may you continue to spread the Joy of Easter Blessings to all!
