From the Office for Social Ministry
Although school is out for the summer, it doesn’t mean kids have to go hungry. The Hawaii State Department of Education (DOE) has announced it will be continuing its Grab-and-Go meal service to all children ages 18 and younger regardless of their enrollment status. Lunch distribution will begin on June 4, 2021 thru July 19, 2021. Pick-ups will include one lunch for that day and one breakfast for the following day.
Parents will be allowed to pick-up lunch for their children if they provide verification such as their child’s Student ID, a report card, birth certificate, etc.
For more information about verification documents and a full listing of SUMMER 2021 LUNCH DISTRIBUTION sites in school districts across the state, visit the DOE website's Summer Meal Program Page. If your child requires special dietary accommodations, please send an email to specialdiets@k12.hi.us or call (808) 784-5500.
