From the Office for Social Ministry
LANDLORD ENGAGEMENT is critically important if we are to do our part in ensuring families and individuals have a safe roof over their heads and able to sustain themselves. Vouchers guarantee payment to landlords, especially during this time of financial uncertainty. Thankfully, the government is issuing more vouchers to each state at this time of great need.
Are you a Landlord? The cooperation of landlords in every parish on every island is needed! Join us online and learn more about housing discrimination that occurs in our state and barriers that hinder successful housing placement for persons transitioning out of homelessness. The Eviction Moratorium ends August 6, 2021 which could result in even more displaced and homeless families.
LETS BE PART OF THE SOLUTION!
It is important for landlords to be aware that there are many federal and state assistance programs to help them continue providing affordable housing to tenants in need through Emergency Housing Vouchers and Oahu Housing Now. If you are a property owner seeking more information, please join the upcoming Landlord Engagement virtual information session on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 6:30 - 8:00 pm hosted by the Office of the Governor’s Coordinator on Homelessness.
