Help me find...
May 4, 2020
As previously announced, Dr. Mike Rockers, Superintendent of Hawaii Catholic Schools, will be retiring at the end of June. Dara Perreira, Director of Human Resources for the Catholic Diocese of Honolulu, has shared, "A search committee was formed with the task of vetting candidates and making a recommendation to the Bishop to fill this important position. However, with the stay at home/work from home order and other challenges that the COVID-19 issue has brought, the search committee felt that they could not properly complete a search at this time.
Therefore, Bishop Larry Silva has appointed Associate Superintendent, Dr. Llewellyn Young, as Acting Superintendent of the Hawaii Catholic Schools Department effective July 1, 2020. Dr. Young will continue the work to serve our schools and their school communities in delivering quality Catholic Education. We are confident that Dr. Young can and will serve our schools and the Catholic faith well during this time.
The search committee will continue to monitor the situation and current environment to determine when it would be best to continue the search process.
Mahalo to Dr. Rockers for all his dedication and contributions he has made to Hawaii Catholic Schools. We pray for continued blessings on him, his family and his next chapter."
