Every year the Hawaii Catholic Schools office holds events and training to welcome the new school year. First on August 10th, we welcomed over 60 new employees to our network of schools with the annual Diocesan New Personnel Orientation. That was followed by an even bigger welcoming with the Mass for the Opening of the School Year for Catholic School Personnel/Feast of the Assumption. Bishop Larry Silva warmly greeted and blessed over 600 of our schools’ administrators and staff in attendance at St. Ann Church on August 15th (pictured, left). Mass was followed by surprise keynote speaker, our very own Dr. Mike Rockers who spoke to everyone about Supporting your Students’ Spiritual, Emotional, and Social Growth (pictured, center). August closed with our yearly Mandatory Administrators’ Meeting at St. Theresa School, Kalihi on August 22nd (pictured, right). September followed with our first Diocesan Board of Education meeting for this school year. With a grateful heart, we give thanks to our Lord for a great beginning to the 2019-2020 school year!
