The Stewardship & Development office exists as a resource to all parishes and departments in order to help foster stewardship as a Christian way of life and to help enable comprehensive fund development. In addition to the staff, a nine-member Stewardship & Development Commission made up of representatives from each of the Vicariates, assists in the overall mission. This includes providing materials and training to assist parishes wishing to better communicate the stewardship teachings of time, talent and treasure. Consultation and assistance are also available to parishes conducting capital campaigns, increased offertory appeals and other fund development efforts such as bequests, gifts of stock, real estate, gift annuities, insurance endowments, grant-writing services, wills and trusts. The office also coordinates The Bishop’s Circle appeal and staffs the Hawaii Catholic Community Foundation (HCCF) and the grants program funded by the $30 million capital and endowment campaign, With Grateful Hearts.
