  • Hospital Ministry brings the care of the Catholic community to all Catholics who are hospitalized. This outreach is accomplished through visiting patients and families, providing daily sacramental services for patients, staff and volunteers at Oahu hospitals: Queen's Medical Center, Straub Clinic & Hospital, Kapiolani Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente. Sunday and holy day liturgies are also provided for patients, staff and visitors at Queen's Hospital. Emergency ministry is provided 24 hours per day, 365 days per year for Queen's Medical Center, Straub Clinic & Hospital, Kapiolani Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente. New admissions and critical patients are visited by a priest daily.

Please note: To make communication easier between the hospital and Catholic Priest In-Charge, please channel calls through the duty hospital chaplain if possible.

    Volunteer Services

Are you a Eucharistic Minister with a couple of hours to spare each week? If so, the Hospital Ministry needs your help. Volunteers are in short supply, especially those who can give Holy Communion to a sick patient. The success of our ministry in local area hospitals lies directly with our volunteers. Without these valuable servants, the priests in Hospital Ministry would struggle to meet the needs of Catholic patients. After a short training session, Eucharistic Minister volunteers can offer their services to the Lord through Hospital Ministry.

If interested, please contact Fr. Francisco Sanchez (fsanchez@rcchawaii.org).
