Physician-Assisted Suicide
Parish Education & Engagement Project

Between now and March 2018, the Hawaii Catholic Conference -- together with the Respect Life Office for the Diocese of Honolulu and the Hawaii Family Forum -- will be hosting a campaign to educate and engage Catholics in Hawai'i on the biggest threat to our Culture of Life: Physician-Assisted Suicide, or PAS.

Thanks in part to your efforts (since 2001), we have successfully defeated legislation before the Hawaii State Legislature that would legalize the practice of ending one's life though the ingestion of a lethal dose of drugs, prescribed by a doctor. But our work is not done.

This dangerous legislation is very likely to be introduced again in January 2018 when the legislature opens for the 2018 legislative session.  Many of our parishioners remain unaware of the threat and seriousness of PAS and we need your help to spread the word.  Below is the campaign outline and timeline, as well as the resources for you to use in your parish bulletins and masses during Life month in October to educate your parish community about PAS and engage them in helping us yet again defeat this dangerous proposal in Hawai'i.
